Wildcat Walkabout

The Wildcat Walkabout is an annual event to raise money to support conservation projects in the wild.

This year it's a ROAR-ing celebration of our 30th Anniversary! Big Cat Rescue is celebrating 30 Years while giving back to the WILD! This year's 2022 Wildcat Walkabout will be an exclusive on-site event, not unlike our previous Walkabouts. However, tickets will only be sold to longstanding supporters by invite only.

The 2022 Wildcat Walkabout and 30th Anniversary logo was designed by BCR President Jamie Veronica and will only be sold for a limited time! Proceeds on all 2022 Wildcat Walkabout merchandise will benefit the permanent residents of Big Cat Rescue in honor of our BIG Anniversary.

Proceeds from this event's ticket sales and donations will be directly donated to the selected charities below that benefit cats in the wild, where they belong.

Conservation Project #1
The Environmental Investigation Agency
The Environmental Investigation Agency is a non-government non-profit organization providing a different kind of frontline work, by sending undercover investigators to the heart of wildlife trafficking syndicates and areas where other environmental crimes are being committed. This illegal trade includes numerous big cat species including tigers, lions. leopards, snow leopards and cheetahs.

Conservation Project #2
Tiger Cats Conservation Initiative
The Tiger Cat Conservation Initiative is working in 19 areas across the home range, to mitigate these threats and better understand the ecology and habitat needs of the species.

Conservation Project #3
The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, based in Nairobi, is one of Africa’s oldest wildlife charities and a registered non profit organization, dedicated to the protection of wildlife and the preservation of habitats. Lion, Leopard and Cheetah are amongst the species that live in these regions and benefit from their work.

Conservation Project #4
Big Cat Rescue's Bobcat Rehab
Big Cat Rescue has decades of experience rehabbing and releasing bobcats back to the wild where they belong. Big Cat Rescue provides large, naturalistic enclosures where these cats can learn or perfect their hunting skills before being released back to the wild.
